Minutes of the Forty-Fourth Semi-Annual Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, convened in the New Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, October 6-11, 1874. First Presidency: Brigham Young; Counselors George A. Smith, Daniel H. Wells, Lorenzo Snow, Brigham Young Jr., Albert Carrington, George Q. Cannon. Patriarch: John Smith. Presiding Bishopric: Edward Hunter, Leonard W. Hardy.

Tuesday, October 6 Morning Session: President George A. Smith delivered [[1874-10-smith-individual-salvationthe-success-of-the-work]], emphasizing self-sustaining communities and home manufacturing. Elder Charles C. Rich spoke on labor for salvation (summary only). Elder Brigham Young, Jr. delivered [[1874-10-young-saints-are-living-witnesses-of-the]] (both filed separately).

Tuesday, October 6 Afternoon Session / dated October 7: Elder John Taylor delivered [[1874-10-taylor-destruction-of-the-wicked-by-the]], on temple building and eternal purposes, and Elder Wilford Woodruff delivered [[1874-10-woodruff-the-gospel-of-christ-unpopular-in]] (both filed separately), declaring the revelations given through Joseph Smith "had been fulfilled to the very letter."
