Minutes of the Forty-Third Annual Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sessions held in the New Tabernacle, Salt Lake City, April 6-8, 1873, with additional sessions May 3-4. Approximately 8,000-10,000 in attendance. First Presidency: Brigham Young, Daniel H. Wells (George A. Smith was on a Palestine pilgrimage). Quorum of the Twelve: Orson Hyde, Orson Pratt, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, George Q. Cannon, Brigham Young Jr., Joseph F. Smith. Patriarch: John Smith.

Sunday, April 6 Morning Session: Elder John Taylor spoke on the designs of God, and Elder George Q. Cannon spoke on the founding of the Kingdom of God, followed by advice on dress at the Conference (all summary only).

Sunday, April 6 Afternoon Session: President Brigham Young delivered [[1873-04-young-friends-and-enemiesobject-of-gatheringbabylon-to]] (filed separately), on distinguishing true friends from enemies and warning against clinging to both Babylon and the Savior.

Monday, April 7 Morning Session: Elder Orson Hyde delivered [[1873-04-hyde-testimonysickness-in-sanpete-countyincrease-of-crime]] (filed separately), testifying of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young's succession and reporting on illness in Sanpete County. Elder Orson Pratt delivered [[1873-04-pratt-establishment-of-the-kingdom-of-godpermanent]] (filed separately), on the law of consecration versus tithing. President Brigham Young then delivered [[1873-04-young-the-order-of-enochstudy-of-lawhow]] (filed separately), encouraging legal study among young and middle-aged men.

Monday, April 7 Afternoon Session: President Brigham Young delivered [[1873-04-young-assistance-of-the-ladies-of-the]] (filed separately), on paper manufacturing and schoolbook printing by the Relief Societies. Elder Wilford Woodruff then delivered [[1873-04-woodruff-home-manufactureoffenses-must-needs-comezion-is]] (filed separately).

Tuesday, April 8 Morning Session: Elder A. O. Smoot spoke on the latter days, and Elder George Q. Cannon spoke on emigration and home manufactures (both summary only).

[Presumably Wednesday, April 9] Afternoon Session: President Brigham Young spoke on donations and Church business; the General Authorities of the Church were sustained by vote of the Conference; and missionary calls were read (summary only).

Saturday, May 3 Morning Session (continuation): Elder Brigham Young, Jr. spoke on acting on faith, and Elder Joseph F. Smith testified of the truthfulness of the Gospel (summary only).

Saturday, May 3 Afternoon Session: President George Q. Cannon spoke and missionary calls were read; Elder David McKenzie and Elder John Taylor also spoke (all summary only).

Sunday, May 4 Morning Session: President Brigham Young spoke (summary only).

Sunday, May 4 Afternoon Session: Elder Charles C. Rich spoke on continued revelation, President Joseph Young spoke on the use of agency for good, and President Brigham Young closed the conference (all summary only; never printed in full in JD).
