Deseret News minutes (October 10, 1855, p. 244) of the October 6-8, 1855 General Conference. Brigham Young's opening prayer is summarized here; all discourses from this conference that survive in the Journal of Discourses are filed separately as full talks: Brigham Young's 'Faith—Practical Religion—Chastisement—Necessity of Devils' and 'Necessity of Home Missions—Purification of the Saints,' Heber C. Kimball's 'Iniquity—Saints Living Their Religion—Early Marriages' (JD 3:123-125), Jedediah M. Grant's 'Men Rewarded According to Their Works' (JD 3:125-127), and Parley P. Pratt's 'Literal Fulfillment of Prophecy' (JD 3:127-139). Corrected during heavyweight review; a prior pass of this note incorrectly claimed all but Young's first discourse were not yet transcribed.
