Viens, jour glorieux de promesse

Heber J. Grant

1921 October General Conference·Séance du matin du troisième jour·1921-10-09

When the British General with his army entered the City of Jerusalem I felt that the time of the Gentiles was very close to being fulfilled. At my request the choir will sing a song written by a converted Jew, the father of our faithful Saint des derniers jours sister, Sister Rebecca Neibaur Nibley — "Come thou glorious day of promise!"

By special request le choir sang, "Come, thou glorious day de promise," by Neibaur.

Come, thou glorious day de promise,

Come et spread thy cheerful ray, When le scattered sheep de Israel

Shall aucun longer go astray; When hosannas,

Avec united voice they'll cry.

Seigneur, how long wilt Thou be angry;

Shall Thy wrath forever burn? Rise,, redeem Thine ancient peuple,

Leur transgressions de them turn. King de Israel,

Come and set Thy peuple free.

O, que soon Thou wouldst à Jacob,

Thy enlivening Spirit send! De leur unbelief et mis'ry

Make, O Seigneur, a speedy end. Seigneur, Messiah!

Prince de Peace o'er Israel reign.

Announcement was made that Elder Ernest W. Wood, and President Lewis W. Shurtliff, of Weber pieu, were ill, and desired to be remembered by the congregation of Saints, and they were prayed for by President Daniel Heiner, who offered the closing prière.

Le meeting was adjourned until 2 o'clock p. m.
