We Have A Volume Of Sacred...

Bruce R. McConkie · 1968 April General Conference · 1968-04-05

◕Authoritative print

Transcribed from the official printed Conference Report of the One Hundred Thirty-eighth Annual (April 1968) General Conference, digitized by the Church History Library and hosted at the Internet Archive (item conferencereport1968a), pp. 19-21. Reading order rebuilt from the item's DjVu OCR word coordinates (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py). This address had never been ingested into the vault under its own name; a prior heavyweight pass flagged it as missing (per the DATA QUALITY FLAG in 1968-04-hinckley-with-a-sincere-heart-with-real-intent.md). This final review pass discovered that the entire address had, in fact, already been ingested in full, but split and misattributed across two other files: the opening (through "An Added Witness") had been merged into the tail of 1968-04-sill-great-work-and-out-of-small-things.md, and the closing ("Book of Mormon Is True") had been merged into the head of 1968-04-hinckley-with-a-sincere-heart-with-real-intent.md, because the printed running heads at the top of each leaf bled into the automated ingestion at the point where this address begins and ends. Recovered in full, reconstructed (including de-interleaving one linearized two-column passage at the closing boundary that had merged McConkie's final sentence with President Hugh B. Brown's narrator transition), and consolidated into this file. Running heads, page numbers, and leaf markers removed; de-hyphenated line breaks and reflowed paragraphs; printed editorial side-heads preserved as Markdown headings without altering wording.
