David O. McKay · 1960 April General Conference · 1960-04-02
Ingested from the Internet Archive scan (conferencereport1960a), printed pages 22-24. This talk was missing entirely from the vault; discovered during a conference-wide scan-collation sweep of 1960-04, which also turned up two other missing 1960-04 McKay addresses (opening address, p.24; closing address, p.120) and revealed that no McKay talk at all had been ingested for either 1960 conference, unlike every adjacent year. Boundaries confirmed against the printed index (McKay, p.22, 'General Priesthood Meeting') and running heads: follows President J. Reuben Clark, Jr.'s address and closes the General Priesthood Meeting, ending with the adjournment and closing prayer. Opens with a genuine live announcement (a phone message for a Brother Pierson) before McKay continues into a substantive closing exhortation on magnifying the Priesthood; both are part of the same continuous printed discourse under his running head, so both are retained per the source. Reflowed OCR paragraphs, removed running heads/page numbers, de-hyphenated line breaks. No wording invented or changed from the source text.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Ingested; not yet independently reviewed.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
