Spencer W. Kimball · 1954 April General Conference · 1954-04-06
Officially published Conference Report; proofread against IA scan conferencereport1954a (leaves 103-108, printed pp. 103-108). CHL/official-Church verification not completed this session (client-rendered SPA catalog not reachable by available tools); IA retained as top-level source per docs/review.md.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the official/CHL/JSP source plus scan/OCR witness; fixed 'SpanishAmericans' to 'Spanish-Americans' and 'NephiteLamanites' to 'Nephite-Lamanites' (dropped hyphens at column wraps).
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: CHL catalog record for April 1954 could not be verified this session (client-rendered SPA, no browser tool access); IA scan conferencereport1954a kept as retained top-level source per docs/review.md. Page-by-page collation against the scan (leaves 103-108, printed pp. 103-108) confirms this is Elder Spencer W. Kimball's (Council of the Twelve) address opening the Fourth Day Morning Meeting (sixth session), Tuesday, April 6, 1954, per President McKay's introduction ('we will hear from Elder Kimball of the Council of the Twelve'); followed by the sustaining vote and then Elder Alma Sonne. Set talk_order 1, exact date, calling, and session. This is the well-known 'Mrs. Anonymous' address on prejudice toward Native American members. Two dropped-hyphen fixes noted above; verified the unbalanced quotation mark in '(From Stanza I of "An Obstacle.)' is a printer's error present in the scan itself, not an OCR artifact — left as printed. Body otherwise matches scan verbatim.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
