◕Authoritative print

Official printed text of the One Hundred Twenty-third Annual (April) General Conference, held April 4, 5, and 6, 1953. The Church History Catalog record for the April 1953 Conference Report could not be independently verified this session (client-rendered catalog site; no browser access available); the Internet Archive scan (conferencereport1953a) is retained as the top-level source rather than guessing a record ID. Heavyweight review collated the text page-by-page against that scan (leaves 71-74); corrected the speaker's display name from "Legrand" to "LeGrand" (matching the printed running head "ELDER LEGRAND RICHARDS" and the standard rendering of his name), a stray apostrophe artifact in "David ' O. McKay", the OCR misread "0 Jerusalem" (zero) to "O Jerusalem", and "1 would like" (digit one) to "I would like"; separated the Matt. 23:37 and 23:38-39 scripture quotations into their own paragraphs.

Witnesses

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against IA scan/OCR witness; corrected speaker name capitalization, stray apostrophe, digit/letter OCR misreads, and reflowed scripture quotes.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: page-by-page collation against IA scan conferencereport1953a (leaves 71-74); talk boundaries, session (Sunday Morning General Conference Session), date (Sunday, April 5, 1953), calling, and talk_order (fourth speaker, following Oscar A. Kirkham) confirmed against the printed text. CHL catalog record for April 1953 could not be verified with available tools this session; kept IA scan as source per docs/review.md rather than fabricate a record ID.
