◕Authoritative print

Official printed text of the One Hundred Twenty-third Annual (April) General Conference, held April 4, 5, and 6, 1953. The Church History Catalog record for the April 1953 Conference Report could not be independently verified this session (client-rendered catalog site; no browser access available); the Internet Archive scan (conferencereport1953a) is retained as the top-level source rather than guessing a record ID. Heavyweight review collated the text page-by-page against that scan (leaves 133-135); this was the final discourse of the conference, followed only by President McKay's closing/administrative remarks (health updates on absent General Authorities, thanks to conference participants), which are session-record material, not part of this talk, and are correctly excluded; removed a running-head bleed ("PRESIDENT DAVID O. McKAY") embedded mid-sentence near the close of the body; separated the I Peter 2:9 quotation and the thirteenth Article of Faith from surrounding prose; fixed a stray apostrophe in "back into' our wards."

Witnesses

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against IA scan/OCR witness; removed a running-head bleed embedded mid-sentence, reflowed scripture/Articles of Faith quotations, fixed a stray apostrophe.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: page-by-page collation against IA scan conferencereport1953a (leaves 133-135); talk boundaries, session (Third Day Afternoon Meeting), date (Monday, April 6, 1953), calling, and talk_order (fifth and final speaker of the conference, following Richard L. Evans per President McKay's introduction) confirmed against the printed text. Confirmed the talk properly ends before President McKay's closing remarks, which are administrative/session material. CHL catalog record for April 1953 could not be verified with available tools this session; kept IA scan as source per docs/review.md rather than fabricate a record ID.
