Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the One Hundred and Ninth Annual Conference (April 1939), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1939a). Reading order was reconstructed from the DjVu word coordinates with scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py, segmented using matched line bounds, then cleaned: running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed; paragraphs reflowed. Not yet proofread line-by-line against the scan images (status: draft, pending review).

Witnesses

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Internet Archive conferencereport1939a scan/OCR; confirmed body text, date/session metadata already correct.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: verified source as the Internet Archive scan conferencereport1939a (109th Annual Conference, held Thu Apr 6 - Fri Apr 7, Sun Apr 9, 1939 -- the 109th anniversary of the Church's organization, Saturday April 8 was not a conference day). Rebuilt page reading order from the scan's DjVu XML word-coordinate data (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py) and cross-checked every talk boundary, date, and session against the report's own exhaustive back-of-book index (leaf n142-145), which lists every address with its own page range and sub-topic headings. This conference's original ingest was already complete and accurate: all 40 vault files map to the real discourses listed in the index, existing date/session/talk_order metadata was already correct, and no speaker misattributions were found other than one garbled name. Filled in page-anchored source_url values for the handful of files that still had only the bare item link. Confirmed no missing addresses this pass.

Corrections

This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
