James M. Kirkham · 1935 April General Conference · 1935-04-07
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the One Hundred and Fifth Annual Conference (April 1935), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1935a). Reading order was reconstructed from the DjVu word coordinates with scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py, then cleaned: running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed; paragraphs reflowed. Not yet proofread line-by-line against the scan images (status: draft, pending review).
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the Internet Archive conferencereport1935a scan/OCR; confirmed body text, date/session metadata already correct.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: verified source as the Internet Archive scan conferencereport1935a (105th Annual Conference, held Fri Apr 5 - Sun Apr 7, 1935). Rebuilt page reading order from the scan's DjVu XML word-coordinate data (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py) and cross-checked every talk boundary, date, and session against the report's own exhaustive back-of-book index (leaf n129-132), which lists every address with its own page range and sub-topic headings. This conference's original ingest (previously light-reviewed by claude-sonnet-4-6) was already accurate: all 33 vault files map one-to-one to the real discourses listed in the index at their exact indexed page numbers, every speaker field was already a correctly-formed bare name with no running-head bleed anywhere in the corpus, and existing date/session/talk_order metadata was already correct. Filled in page-anchored source_url values for four files that still had only the bare item link. Confirmed no missing addresses this pass. Also removed two trailing session-close notes ('The Tabernacle Choir sang the anthem...' and 'Elder Alfred L. Hanks... offered the benediction') that had bled onto the end of this file after the speaker's closing 'Amen', and fixed an OCR-garbled sentence against the scan ('. 1 have a testimony... I have 'been active m this Church' -> 'I have a testimony... I have been active in this Church'), where '1' and 'm' were OCR misreads of 'I' and 'in' and the leading stray period/quote were scan noise.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
