Charles A. Callis · 1934 October General Conference · 1934-10-07
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the 105th Semi-Annual Conference (October 1934), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1934sa). Reading order was reconstructed from the DjVu word coordinates with scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py, then cleaned: running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed; paragraphs reflowed. Not yet proofread line-by-line against the scan images (status: draft, pending review).
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the Internet Archive conferencereport1934sa scan/OCR; confirmed body text, date/session metadata already correct.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: verified source as the Internet Archive scan conferencereport1934sa (105th Semi-Annual Conference, held Fri Oct 5 - Sun Oct 7, 1934). Rebuilt page reading order from the scan's DjVu XML word-coordinate data (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py) and cross-checked every talk boundary, date, and session against the report's own exhaustive back-of-book index (leaf n133-136), which lists every address with its own page range and sub-topic headings. This conference's original ingest was already accurate: all 36 vault files map one-to-one to the real discourses listed in the index at their exact indexed page numbers, and existing date/session/talk_order metadata was already correct. Filled in page-anchored source_url values for seven files that still had only the bare item link (one of them, Welling's North Central States Mission report, required locating from the index rather than the automated word-match, since the file's already-corrected spelling of 'brethren' does not literally match the scan's OCR typo 'brethen'). Confirmed no missing addresses this pass.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
