David O. McKay · 1932 October General Conference · 1932-10-08
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the One Hundred and Third Semi-Annual Conference (October 1932), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1932sa). Reading order was reconstructed from the DjVu word coordinates with scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py, then cleaned: running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed; paragraphs reflowed. Not yet proofread line-by-line against the scan images (status: draft, pending review).
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the Internet Archive conferencereport1932sa scan/OCR; confirmed body text, date/session metadata already correct.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: verified source as the Internet Archive scan conferencereport1932sa (103rd Semi-Annual Conference, held Fri Oct 7 - Sun Oct 9, 1932; President Heber J. Grant was absent due to illness, his brief telegraphic message read to the conference, with President Anthony W. Ivins presiding throughout). Rebuilt page reading order from the scan's DjVu XML word-coordinate data (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py) and cross-checked every talk boundary, date, and session against the report's own exhaustive back-of-book index (leaf n117-119), confirming a clean one-to-one mapping for all 31 vault files -- including six separate short Ivins remarks scattered through the conference as presiding officer -- with existing date/session/talk_order metadata already correct. Filled in two remaining bare source_urls. Swept out a systemic running-head bleed pattern (bare 'ELDER-or-PRESIDENT NAME' repeated mid-body) affecting 20 of the 31 files, rejoining page-break mid-sentence splits and removing pure paragraph-boundary artifacts. Verified the three shortest files (two brief Ivins introductions and Grant's telegram) against the scan word-for-word; all are genuinely brief and complete, not truncated. Confirmed no missing addresses this pass.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
