Heavyweight pass: verified source as the Internet Archive scan conferencereport1929a (99th Annual Conference, held Fri Apr 5 - Sun Apr 7, 1929). This conference's original ingest was substantially more corrupted than most: sequential 'remarks-N' filenames with a fabricated date sequence (1929-04-01 through 1929-04-44, one calendar day per file, entirely unrelated to the real 3-day conference) and session labels assigned by simple file-position thirds rather than real content. Rebuilt page reading order from the scan's DjVu XML word-coordinate data (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py), extracted the true speaker sequence from the running heads themselves, and cross-checked every talk against the report's own exhaustive back-of-book index (leaf n133-135), replacing every date/session with the real value for all 39 surviving files. Found and merged 4 discourses that had been split across two files apiece (Clawson, Talmage, McKay, Whitney), restored the true identity of 9 mission-president speakers whose names the original parser had discarded, fixed one badly malformed frontmatter block (missing newline after the closing delimiter), and deleted one bogus 'discourse' that was actually a Deseret Book Company advertisement for a Talmage title mistaken for a talk by him. Swept out a pervasive running-head bleed pattern (bare speaker names, 'GENERAL CONFERENCE' page headers, and session-boundary text) from 25 of the 39 files, rejoining page-break mid-sentence splits. Confirmed no missing addresses this pass.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
