Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Heavyweight pass: collated against conferencereport1927sa djvu OCR.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: this file was ingested with the placeholder speaker 'Of The Southern States Mission' rather than the actual speaker's name. Identified the true speaker as Charles A. Callis, President of the Southern States Mission, from a bled-in running-head fragment ('ELDER CHARLES A. CALLIS') mid-paragraph, cross-checked against the mission-presidents roster in the conference's opening front matter (1927-10-01), which lists 'Charles A. Callis, Southern States' among the mission presidents present. Collated word-for-word against the conferencereport1927sa djvu OCR witness (First Day Afternoon Meeting, Friday, October 7, 1927). Corrected date from approximate to exact and added the missing page fragment to source_url. Removed the bled-in running-head fragment (splitting 'splen-did mothers') and a stray glyph ('»') left mid-word/mid-sentence. Fixed OCR typos: 'to keep ontr sons' -> 'to keep our sons'; 'these- young men' -> 'these young men' (dehyphenated across a line break, continuing into the next file). Confirmed boundary: begins after David O. McKay's morning remarks are referenced and ends with 'Amen.'
