George F. Richards · 1926 October General Conference · 1926-10-04
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report published by the Deseret News and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1926sa). Running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the official/CHL/JSP source plus scan/OCR witness; trimmed a trailing running-head bleed ("ELDER ORSON F. WHITNEY") appended after the Amen, fixed multiple OCR stray-character typos ("engagirlg", "know.n", "whic!", "tc", "raisi", "hirn", "arc", "Sbn", "ai God"), corrected session/date.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: authoritative source URL verified (archive.org conferencereport1926sa, page/n88); page-by-page collation against scan/OCR witness. Boundary defect found and fixed: the prior draft had the next speaker's running head, "ELDER ORSON F. WHITNEY," bled into the end of the file after Richards's closing "Amen" — trimmed, since Whitney's actual address is a separate talk (talk_order 25). Talk opens directly under the ELDER GEORGE F. RICHARDS running head, immediately after Elder Clawson's address, with no session business intervening. Session/date corrected from "First Day Afternoon Session" / 1926-10-01 (approximate) to "Second Day Morning Session" / 1926-10-04 (exact) per the OCR's "SECOND DAY / MORNING SESSION" header (Monday, October 4, 1926). Fixed numerous OCR stray-character typos in the body (e.g. "engagirlg" to "engaging", "know.n" to "known", "whic!" to "which", a misOCR'd running head "GENERAL CONEERENCE" removed as page-number/running-head artifact).
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
