Session notes: Second Day opening hymns and prayer

Conference record · 1919 October General Conference · 1919-10-04

Fidelity

○Fragmentary

Session housekeeping notes (session header, two full hymns, and prayer notice) misfiled in the original ingest as an individual discourse under a garbled speaker placeholder. Reclassified as record_type: conference_record during heavyweight review; no individual sermon content was lost or removed.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Light review: in-context proofread, synopsis/session-artifact cleanup, and spacing fixes. NOT a full page-by-page scan collation.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: identified the source of the garbled placeholder speaker 'Of The Burley Stake Of Zion.' Verified against the djvu OCR (conferencereport1919sa_djvu.xml, leaf 67) that the preceding page's closing line reads 'The benediction was pronounced by Elder David R. Langlois, President of the Burley stake of Zion' -- this closes the First Day session, immediately before leaf 68 (this file) opens the Second Day session. The original ingest mis-parsed that trailing benediction credit line as if it were this file's speaker heading. Confirmed via the OCR (leaves 68-69) that this file's actual content -- the Second Day session header, the full hymns 'O Say, What Is Truth?' and 'How Firm a Foundation,' and the prayer notice for Elder Don B. Colton, President of the Uintah stake of Zion -- is entirely session-opening housekeeping with no sermon content by Langlois, Colton, or anyone else; the next running head after this material is 'ELDER ORSON F. WHITNEY' (1919-10-20), confirming a clean boundary. Reclassified as record_type: conference_record per schema/schema.md rather than continuing to misattribute it as a talk by a nonexistent speaker. Corrected date to 1919-10-04 (the Second Day) and session to 'Second Day Morning Session' to match the session header in the body; anchored source_url to archive.org conferencereport1919sa n68 (this is where the Second Day session opens). Fixed OCR letter errors and stray marks ('^VVhat'->'What', a stray asterisk, 'IWhen'->'When', a mid-body running head/page-number bleed removed). No independent re-fetch of the scan image was performed beyond confirming the IA item exists and pulling its djvu OCR text.
