John L. Herrick · 1919 June General Conference · 1919-06-02
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report published by the Deseret News and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1919a). Running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Light review: in-context proofread, synopsis/session-artifact cleanup, and spacing fixes. NOT a full page-by-page scan collation.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: source_url (archive.org conferencereport1919a, n104) confirmed as correct IA item/era. Corrected session from 'Second Day Morning Session' to 'Second Day Afternoon Session' to match the preceding file (1919-06-54), which explicitly places itself in the afternoon and to which this address follows with no session-break marker. Removed a mid-body running-head bleed ('ELDER JOHN M. KNIGHT') that had split a sentence. No further boundary contamination found; this is John L. Herrick's farewell address as retiring Western States Mission president. Fixed numerous OCR errors (stray glyphs, 'sucsessor'->'successor', "ha'1"->'had', 'T am'->'I am', 'tb" tivre'->'the time', 'bv'->'by', 'jn'->'in', 'peaee'->'peace'). No independent re-fetch of the scan image was performed beyond confirming the IA item exists.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
