Conference record · 1916 October General Conference · 1916-10-08
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report published by the Deseret News and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1916sa). Running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Light review: in-context proofread, synopsis/session-artifact cleanup, and spacing fixes. NOT a full page-by-page scan collation.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: this file was never a discourse -- it is the Second Day Afternoon Session's closing (choir, prayer) followed by the Third Day Morning Session's opening (President Smith's overflow-meeting announcements, prayer, tenor solo). The original ingest had filed it as a discourse under the bogus speaker 'Smith.' (an OCR artifact from 'President Joseph F. Smith, presiding' in the session-open text). Reclassified as record_type: conference_record and dated to the Third Day session it mostly documents, per the systematic date/session mislabeling found across this conference's talk_order 8-46 range (all originally stamped First/Second Day Morning regardless of true position).
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
