Seymour B. Young · 1915 October General Conference · 1915-10-06
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report published by the Deseret News and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1915sa). Running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Restored in full from OCR during heavyweight review; this talk was entirely absent from the original ingest except for its own closing fragment, which had been wrongly filed as a separate 'talk' by a garbled OCR speaker name ('Kimball And President'). Proofread against the OCR of conferencereport1915sa (leaves 103-105); running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed, paragraphs reflowed.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: source verified against conferencereport1915sa OCR. Reading order reconstructed with scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py; ground-truth map built from running heads and FIRST/SECOND/THIRD DAY session headers. This talk -- Seymour B. Young's opening address of the Third Day Morning Session (Wednesday, October 6), immediately after conference was called to order -- was missing from the original ingest. Only its closing third had survived, misfiled at talk_order 45 as a separate 'talk' with speaker 'Kimball And President' and a title made entirely of OCR-garbled letters ('-W-E-L-L-S-,- - -I-N- - -T-H-E-I-R- - -A-C-C-U-S-T-O-M-E-D- - -S-E-A-T-S-,-'); that title/speaker was itself parsed from the mid-sentence OCR text "President Kimball, and President Wells, in their accustomed seats" inside Young's own reminiscence about the Salt Lake Theatre, not a real speaker header. Also mis-dated 1915-10-04 (Second Day) and mislabeled "Second Day Morning Session"; the true THIRD DAY. header (leaf 103) shows this talk belongs to Wednesday, October 6. Restored the missing opening two-thirds verbatim from OCR and merged with the previously-misfiled closing third at this same talk_order slot (45); fixed OCR errors (e.g. "limped clown" -> "limped down", "T was"/"T see"/"T must" -> "I was"/"I see"/"I must", "Wrhere" -> "Where", "D*-. Park" -> "Dr. Park").
