Charles W. Penrose · 1915 April General Conference · 1915-04-04
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report published by the Deseret News and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1915a). Running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the official Deseret News Conference Report OCR/scan witness (conferencereport1915a, internal file prefix conferencereport851chur); restored a truncated opening and removed a wrongly-appended second talk.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: found two defects via word-coordinate reading-order reconstruction of the DjVu OCR. (1) The body was missing its opening ~90 lines (from the true start, "I should have been well repaid...", through "...it entered our souls"); restored verbatim from OCR (leaves 32-33). (2) The file's tail had Francis M. Lyman's entire subsequent address ("PREST. FRANCIS M. LYMAN" / "Duties of Seventies clearly defined") wrongly appended after Penrose's "Amen."; removed it and re-created it as the separate, previously-missing talk_order 4 file (1915-04-04-francis-m-lyman-remarks-4.md). Session corrected from "First Day Morning Session" to "First Day Afternoon Session" (Penrose spoke after the session resumed at 2 p.m.); source URL/page anchor corrected to n32 (true start of the address).
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
