Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: verified against IA scan/OCR (conferencereport1914sa leaves 45-50); confirmed talk opens the Second Overflow Meeting (Assembly Hall, Joseph F. Smith Jr. presiding) right after the closing anthem -- corrected session from First Day Afternoon/Morning to the vault-standard 'Second Overflow Meeting' label. Found this file cut off mid-sentence ('...mentioned in our hearing this morning by'), and the separate file 1914-10-11 -- misattributed to a phantom speaker 'Smith And President' with a title built entirely from OCR noise -- was actually the direct continuation of this same talk. Merged file 11's content back in and deleted it as a duplicate/artifact. Also identified and separately fixed a third Penrose address (on the resurrection and degrees of glory, previously misattributed to 'Lund') immediately preceding this talk -- see 1914-10-08-lund-remarks-8.md, now correctly attributed to Penrose. Supplied a title from the talk's opening theme; removed trailing period from speaker/calling; added page-anchored source_url. Fixed additional scattered OCR errors on a second pass (Toseph/Joseph, Kim/Him, fesus/Jesus, ordinanceof/ordinances of). Confirmed the merged talk's closing 'Amen' intact. 0 QC ERRORs.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
