Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Light review: in-context proofread, synopsis/session-artifact cleanup, and spacing fixes. NOT a full page-by-page scan collation.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: this entire talk was misattributed to a phantom speaker 'Alma Merrill' with a garbled session-tail placeholder title ('Conference adjourned until 2'). The body's own repeated running heads read 'PRESIDENT CHARLES W. PENROSE.' / 'PREST. CHARLES W. PENROSE.' throughout, and the content (afflictions, growth of the Church, tithing disposition, figurative sayings of the Savior) matches the printed synopsis heading found with the talk. Corrected speaker, speaker_id, calling (Second Counselor in the First Presidency), and title (trimmed to the first two clauses of the printed synopsis). Split the wrongly-prepended Afternoon Session opening housekeeping (hymns, prayer) into its own file, 1914-04-conference-record-session-notes-02.md. Corrected session from First Day Morning to First Day Afternoon. Removed several mid-body running-head bleeds ('PRESIDENT CHARLES W. PENROSE.', 'PRESIDENT CHARLES IV. PENROSE.' -- an OCR misread of 'W.'). Confirmed body complete and closing 'Amen' intact; removed a trailing soprano-solo credit fragment. 0 QC ERRORs.
