Session notes: Authorities sustained

Conference record · 1913 October General Conference · 1913-10-06

Fidelity

○Fragmentary

Session housekeeping/business notes (the sustaining vote for the General Authorities and Church officers). Previously spread across two misfiled talk drafts: the opening ("Elder Heber J. Grant presented the names..." through "Hyrum G. Smith, as Presiding") had been bundled unattributed at the end of Charles W. Nibley's file (see 1913-10-59, now trimmed), and the remainder had been ingested as a pseudo-talk under an id/speaker generated from an OCR-garbled fragment ("Of The Church"). Reclassified as record_type: conference_record and merged into one file; no individual sermon content was lost.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Heavyweight pass reassembled this conference-record material from two misfiled fragments (see fidelity_notes) into one file, corrected the date to the Third Day (October 6), and restored the missing transition line ("Hyrum G. Smith, as Presiding Patriarch") that had been cut off at the original page/file boundary. Fixed OCR errors in the officer roster ("Jonathan G. Kimball"->"J. Golden Kimball", "August W. Lund"->"A. William Lund" left as printed pending verification, various stray punctuation).

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: verified against archive.org/details/conferencereport1913sa leaves 137-141 (page/n136 through page/n140), page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness under the "GENERAL CONFERENCE. AUTHORITIES SUSTAINED." heading. Confirmed boundary: opens immediately after Charles W. Penrose's second remark (see 1913-10-60), and closes with "...duly sustained in the positions designated, by unanimous vote of the Conference." immediately before President Joseph F. Smith's closing remarks (see 1913-10-63). Correctly excluded from fidelity: authoritative_print sermon status.
