Heavyweight pass: fixed a serious misattribution (the ingest had filed this talk under a garbled auto-generated title/speaker taken from fragments of the preceding McKay talk's missing ending); corrected id, title, speaker, speaker_id, calling_at_time, and source_url leaf; removed running-head bleeds and fixed OCR letter errors.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: reconstructed true reading order from the conferencereport1911a DjVu XML word coordinates (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py). Discovered this file was misattributed: its id/title/speaker fields were auto-generated from garbled OCR fragments that actually belonged to the missing ending of the preceding David O. McKay talk (1911-04-17), which has now been restored there. The body of this file is entirely J. Golden Kimball's own address (identified by the in-body speaker line 'EIDEE J. GOLDEN KIMBALL. (Of the First Council of Seventy.)', an OCR misread of ELDER, which was removed from the body per convention after capturing it in the frontmatter). Renamed file to 1911-04-18-j-golden-kimball-remarks-18.md and corrected all frontmatter accordingly, including the source_url leaf (n68, corrected from an initial guess of n69). Removed a second mid-paragraph running-head bleed ('ELDER J. GOLDEN KIMBALL.') and a mid-word bleed from a different running head ('ELDER RULON S. WELLS.' interrupting the word 'after'). Fixed several OCR letter errors (the)' -> they, 1 assume -> I assume, >men -> men, art -> are, Tt -> It, ror -> for, wont -> won't, ud hither -> up hither). Confirmed boundaries clean: begins with Kimball's own remarks (after a trailing musical note from the prior session), ends at his own Amen. Also corrected date and session, which had been systematically mislabeled First Day (1911-04-06) across roughly twenty 1911-04 files; the DjVu day headers (FIRST DAY at leaf 1, SECOND DAY at leaf 30, THIRD DAY at leaf 61) were used to reassign the correct day/session per file via its source_url leaf.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
