Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1908a); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness (lines 2331-2823) confirmed speaker is John Henry Smith (Quorum of the Twelve) despite the filename's generic "smith-" prefix -- not Joseph F. Smith -- and confirmed against the frontmatter speaker field. Boundary confirmed: starts immediately after the "ELDER JOHN HENRY SMITH." heading (running-head repeats later read "ELDER JOHN H. SMITH." -- page headers, not new talks) and ends immediately before "ELDER HEBER J. GRANT." Removed the printed subject-list synopsis block from the body (non-talk editorial material, per repo convention). Restored a dropped clause lost in the prior light-review pass: "Our attention has often been called to this principle of temperance, upon which President Smith and the brethren spoke this morning..." -- the witness confirms "upon which President Smith and" before "the brethren spoke this morning," which had been omitted. Corrected clear single-character/spacing OCR errors verbatim against the witness ("tke"->"the", "reverance"->"reverence", "Thjere"->"There", missing spaces after "months, and" and "truth, but", stray period in "the. latter-days"). Left as printed per restraint principle: "would!", "them'", "whom'", and the stray hyphen in "who should - have been impressed" -- these appear as-is in the witness OCR and are ambiguous printer/OCR artifacts with no single unambiguous correction.
