Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Eighth Annual Conference (April 1908), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1908a). Heavyweight page-by-page collation against the IA scan/OCR witness (djvu text, lines 5019-5550) confirmed the talk boundary and corrected remaining OCR misreads. Grade reflects the officially published Conference Report.

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Internet Archive Conference Report scan/OCR witness; boundary, metadata, and OCR cleanup checked. QC header-metadata pass (2026-07-17): rejoined 2 spurious mid-sentence hyphens ("get- out"->"get out", "built- up"->"built up") confirmed present verbatim in the IA djvu witness OCR, not vault-introduced.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1908a, printed pages 45-50); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness (djvu lines 5019-5550) confirmed boundary (immediately follows Nephi Pratt's report, ends before Franklin S. Bramwell's report; confirmed the body was already clean of the two mid-body running-head repeats present in the witness at lines 5148 and 5369, one OCR-garbled as "ELDER ANDREW J EN SON.", and of the interleaved page-number/"GENERAL CONFERENCE." header noise). Corrected verifiable OCR misreads ("ve shall pros-per"->ye shall prosper, "awav"->away, "111."->Ill., "lone"->long, "tl.ese"->these, "hqme"->home, "Tesus"->Jesus). Left genuinely ambiguous garbling as printed (e.g. "worst\"'\"" for what is likely "worship", stray apostrophes in "kingdom'"/"Abraham'"/"from'"). Scripture citations (Ether 1:42, Gen. 12:7, I Nephi 2:2, I Nephi 2:20) match the witness verbatim; left as printed.
