Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Heavyweight page-by-page collation against the Internet Archive scan/OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Eighth Annual Conference (April 1908), hosted at conferencereport1908a. Confirmed the boundary: the talk begins at the real "BISHOP JOHN W. HART." heading (the third occurrence of that running head in the witness; the first two, at the page-60/61 break inside Chipman's preceding talk and mid-body at the page-62/63 break within this talk itself, are false mid-page running heads and were correctly excluded). Confirmed the talk ends at "...I ask in the name of Jesus. Amen." before the real "ELDER MOSES W. TAYLOR." heading. Session corrected to "Second Overflow Meeting" (Assembly Hall, 2 p.m., Elder Rudger Clawson presiding), matching the session heading confirmed in Chipman's immediately preceding talk. Grade reflects the officially published Conference Report.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Internet Archive Conference Report scan/OCR witness; boundary, metadata, and OCR cleanup checked.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1908a, leaf n62); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness confirmed speaker, supplied title, exact date, session (corrected from "Sunday Afternoon Overflow Session" to "Second Overflow Meeting" to match the real session heading), and talk order. Confirmed talk boundary against the two false mid-page "BISHOP JOHN W. HART." running-head occurrences (page-60/61 break, inside Chipman's talk; page-62/63 break, mid-body of this talk) versus the real heading opening this talk and the real "ELDER MOSES W. TAYLOR." heading closing it. Body text matches the witness verbatim paragraph by paragraph; fixed one line-break hyphenation reflow artifact ("impos sible" -> "impossible"). Left period print-typo artifacts as printed per the restraint principle ("orgainzed," "imoossible," "i-s," the stray " - " in "whereby we - can claim," and "southeast of . the state"), since they read as genuine period typesetting artifacts already present in the witness rather than unambiguous scan-reading errors, consistent with the sibling Chipman talk's treatment of similar artifacts.
