Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Heavyweight page-by-page collation against the Internet Archive scan/OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Eighth Annual Conference (April 1908), hosted at conferencereport1908a. Running heads, page numbers, and a stray OCR artifact mark removed; leading session-opening hymn/prayer lines from the Overflow Meeting record stripped as they are not part of Ellsworth's own remarks; line-break hyphenation dejoined; OCR letter and stray-punctuation errors corrected against the witness. Grade reflects the officially published Conference Report.

Witnesses

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Internet Archive Conference Report scan/OCR witness; boundary, metadata, and OCR cleanup checked.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1908a); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness confirmed talk boundary (immediately follows George F. Richards, whose talk is a known vault gap not included here; immediately precedes Elder Nephi Pratt, whose running head appears mid-sentence in the OCR near the page break but is not a real boundary until the actual heading later in the text). Stripped leading session-opening hymn/prayer lines (not part of Ellsworth's remarks, consistent with the sibling 1909-10 Ellsworth talk's heavyweight review). Removed a stray unmatched OCR artifact mark and page-header noise from mid-body. Corrected OCR misreads verbatim against the witness: 'of- hundreds' -> 'of hundreds' (stray hyphen), 'Fath-. er' -> 'Father' (hyphenation break with errant period), "our' best" -> 'our best' (stray apostrophe), 'eood' -> 'good', 'his. counsel' -> 'his counsel' (stray period). Quoted Doctrine and Covenants 84:54-57 passage checked and matches the witness/canonical wording.
