I Rejoice in Being Present at This Conference

Sylvester Q. Cannon · 1907 April General Conference · 1907-04-07

Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Seventh Annual Conference (April 1907), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1907a). Running heads and line-break hyphenation removed. The speaker's printed middle initial is genuinely ambiguous in the source scan's OCR layer (renders as a lowercase 'a.'); identified as Sylvester Q. Cannon based on the historical record of a missionary of that name called to labor in the Netherlands/Belgium mission around this period, but the scan's own letterform is not fully legible and is flagged here rather than silently normalized.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Newly ingested: split out of 1907-04-roberts-seconding-address.md, which had wrongly appended this separate address under the preceding talk's file.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: this is a newly-created file, not a redo of an existing one. Split out of the end of 1907-04-roberts-seconding-address.md, where this Cannon address had been wrongly appended after the genuine session record following Roberts's own remarks (resolution adopted; Elihu Call's tenor solo). Confirmed via the reconstructed reading order from the conferencereport1907a DjVu XML word coordinates (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py, leaf 59-60) that the text is transcribed accurately, with no OCR letter errors found beyond the ambiguous middle-initial glyph noted in fidelity_notes ('ch.ild' -> 'child' also fixed). source_url anchored to leaf 59 where this address begins. talk_order set to 16 (matching Roberts's preceding talk) rather than renumbering the rest of the day; talk_order is a display/sort aid only and not QC-validated. No independent re-fetch of the scan image was performed beyond confirming the IA item exists and pulling its djvu OCR/XML.

Corrections

This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
