Samuel O. Bennion · 1907 April General Conference · 1907-04-07
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Seventh Annual Conference (April 1907), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1907a). OCR corrected by hand (running heads and line-break hyphenation removed, paragraphing restored, obvious OCR errors corrected). Collated page-by-page against the DjVu XML reading-order reconstruction.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Heavyweight pass: split a separate William W. Riter address out of the end of this file (see heavyweight_review_notes); proofread against the conferencereport1907a DjVu XML reading-order reconstruction.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: reconstructed true reading order from the conferencereport1907a DjVu XML word coordinates (scripts/ingest/cr-reading-order.py) since this pre-1911 report has no back-of-book index or printed session-per-talk headers; confirmed pre-existing running-head bleeds of 'ELDER WILLIAM W. RITER.' mid-paragraph on leaves 71-73 had already been correctly cleaned in the original light-review pass. Fixed OCR letter errors in Bennion's own remarks ('buildine'->'building', 'younpmen'->'young men', 'heln'->'help', 'stav'->'stay', 'vou'->'you', 'tearb'->'teach', 'we are going: to investigate'->'we are going to investigate'). Split out a separate, substantial address by Elder William W. Riter that had been wrongly appended to the end of this file into new file 1907-04-riter-preserving-knowledge-of-god.md -- talk_order 20 (shared with this file, since they occur back-to-back in the reported block; a full renumbering of the rest of the day was judged out of scope for this pass). source_url anchored to leaf 69 where this talk begins.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
