James Duckworth · 1906 October General Conference · 1906-10-07
Heavyweight page-by-page collation against the Internet Archive scan/OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Seventh Semi-Annual Conference (conferencereport1906sa). Talk boundary, exact session/date/order metadata, and source anchor checked against the report text. This file previously had an entire different talk (James G. Duffin's Central States Mission report, plus session-opening material) prepended ahead of Duckworth's actual remarks; that misattributed content has been removed so the file now contains only Duckworth's address. OCR misreads corrected against the witness.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the Internet Archive Conference Report scan/OCR witness; boundary, metadata, and OCR cleanup checked.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1906sa); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness. MAJOR BOUNDARY FIX: the file as drafted began with session-opening material (a prayer credit and hymn fragment) followed by the ENTIRE address of Elder James G. Duffin (President of the Central States Mission) before Duckworth's talk even started; all of that misattributed content has been removed, and the file now begins at Duckworth's actual opening line, ending at his "Amen." immediately before the German E. Ellsworth running head. Corrected OCR misreads ("acceot"->accept, "carrw"->carry, "enjov"->enjoy, "oractice"->practice, "uoon"->upon, "comandments"->commandments, "net"->not, "v.e"->we, "t>ray"->pray, "kno w"->know) verbatim against the witness. Duffin's October 1906 remarks have since been re-transcribed fresh from the djvu OCR (not recovered from this file's prior history) as their own talk file, 1906-10-duffin-report-central-states, inserted as talk_order 16 immediately before this talk; talk_order for this and all subsequent 1906 October talks was renumbered by one accordingly.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
