The Immortality of Individual Identity and the Resurrection

Charles W. Penrose · 1906 April General Conference · 1906-04-08

Fidelity

◕Authoritative print

Heavyweight page-by-page collation against the Internet Archive scan/OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Sixth Annual Conference (conferencereport1906a). Talk boundary, exact session/date/order metadata, and source anchor checked against the report text. The trailing "AUDITING COMMITTEE'S REPORT" (a separate administrative document that follows this talk in the printed report, read by President Smith, not spoken by Penrose) had been appended to the body; removed. Extensive OCR misreads corrected against the witness, including a systematic misread of lowercase "w" as "Av". Grade reflects the officially published Conference Report.

Witnesses

No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Internet Archive Conference Report scan/OCR witness; boundary, metadata, and OCR cleanup checked.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: authoritative IA Conference Report source verified (conferencereport1906a); page-by-page collation against the scan/OCR witness confirmed speaker, supplied title, exact date, session, and talk order. Removed the trailing Auditing Committee's Report, a separate document read by President Smith that followed this talk in print but is not part of it. Corrected extensive OCR misreads throughout, including a systematic 'Av' for 'w' misread (Avith->with, Avho->who, Avork->work, etc.) and dozens of other stray marks/misreads.

Corrections

This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
