Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventy-Second Semi-Annual Conference (October 1901), hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1901sa). OCR corrected by hand (running heads and line-break hyphenation removed, paragraphing restored, obvious OCR errors corrected). Not yet proofread line-by-line against page images. Grade reflects the officially published Conference Report.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Light review: in-context proofread, synopsis/session-artifact cleanup, and spacing fixes. NOT a full page-by-page scan collation.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: resolved the prior blocker. Confirmed via the reconstructed conferencereport1901sa reading order that this is John Henry Smith's own, genuine, distinct funeral tribute -- the running-head 'ELDER JOHN HENRY SMITH.' marking its start (previously appended to the end of 1901-10-young-funeral-tribute-lorenzo-snow.md) is a real speaker boundary, not a mis-split artifact of Brigham Young Jr.'s address, proven by this speech's own later reference to 'my brother Brigham' in the third person. Restored the missing true opening (from 'With you, my brethren and sisters...' through '...when President Snow was in the heyday of'), which had been left in the Young file; merged it with this file's previously-ingested continuation into one complete address. Collated the full merged body against the scan; boundaries confirmed clean from the genuine opening through the closing 'Amen.'
