George Q. Cannon · 1900 April General Conference · 1900-04-08
Transcribed from the OCR of the official printed Conference Report of the Seventieth Annual Conference (April 1900), scanned and hosted at the Internet Archive (conferencereport1900a). OCR was cleaned and corrected: running heads, page numbers, and line-break hyphenation removed; obvious OCR errors fixed.
No witness list recorded beyond the primary source.
Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the official/CHL/JSP source plus scan/OCR witness; fixed residual OCR typos and stray running-head/page-number bleed (e.g. 'CEJSiERAL CONFERENCE' mid-paragraph, a duplicated 'the the', 'fullnes'->'fullness'), confirmed against the IA page image for one ambiguous widow-line fragment.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: source verified against archive.org conferencereport1900a leaf 53 (page/n54 already recorded), confirmed via IIIF page images (leaves 56, 58). Synopsis 'Future exaltation dependent upon obedience to law -- Having kept our first estate, our present aim should be to keep well our second -- Heavens filled with higher truths, which, as we progress, will be revealed' confirms title/topic and speaker (President George Q. Cannon, First Counselor in the First Presidency, Third Day Afternoon/Closing Session -- the final talk of the April 1900 conference, confirmed by the conference-adjournment notice and clerk's signature immediately following). Boundary confirmed clean: opens directly after Elder Reed Smoot's acceptance address and closes '...which I humbly ask, in the name of Jesus. Amen.' immediately before the closing anthem/benediction and adjournment notice (non-talk material correctly excluded). Resolved one page-break widow-line fragment ('I am on this earth for / is to get celestial glory') via the IA page image, confirming it is a normal column-top orphan, not a two-column interleave. Body content, including the D&C 88 quotations, verified word-for-word against the IA djvu OCR reading order; fixed residual OCR typos throughout.
