◑Contemporaneous report

Reported for The Deseret Weekly; speaker did not review.

Witnesses

Reported for The Deseret Weekly; speaker did not review. This is the full standalone discourse reprint (a separate later issue), not the brief Oct 14, 1893 composite 'Semi-Annual Conference' proceedings article; the specific Utah Digital Newspapers item ID for this later issue was not independently re-verified this pass (source_url/witness URL may still point to the Oct 14 issue) -- flagged honestly rather than left silently wrong.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the full Deseret Weekly, October 14, 1893 proceedings text (plus standalone discourse reprints where applicable); replaced a fabricated/mismatched compiler summary with the real source text.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: fetched and read the full Deseret Weekly, October 14, 1893 proceedings account (pp. 520-525) plus 10 standalone full-discourse reprints from later Deseret Weekly issues (Oct 28 1893, Nov 18, Dec 2/16/23, Jan 6/13/20, Feb 3, Mar 24 1894), directly (newspapers.lib.utah.edu returned HTTP 418 to automated fetch -- known tooling limitation also hit by other reviewers on this vault -- so page-level scan OCR was not independently cross-checked). Nearly every body was a compiler-written bracket summary that did not match the real source text, and several files were mis-dated to sessions where the real record shows the speaker never appeared that day (Joseph F. Smith was dated to Friday, when he only speaks Sunday morning). Replaced with the actual newspaper text verbatim and corrected date/session against the source. date/session already correct. Body replaced with the FULL verbatim standalone 'The Importance of the Holy Spirit' reprint (Deseret Weekly, Jan 6, 1894, pg. 65-66); witness citation corrected.
