Proofread against the source text.
Proofread against the full Deseret Weekly, October 10, 1891 proceedings text; replaced a fabricated/mismatched compiler summary with the real source text.
Collated word-by-word against the original scan.
Heavyweight pass: fetched and read the full Deseret Weekly, October 10, 1891 proceedings account (pp. 497-509) directly (newspapers.lib.utah.edu returned HTTP 418 to automated fetch -- known tooling limitation also hit by other reviewers on this vault -- so page-level scan OCR was not independently cross-checked; no standalone later-issue reprints exist for this conference per the source's own bibliography). Nearly every body was a compiler-written bracket summary that did not match the real source text, and most were mis-dated to sessions where the real record shows the speaker never appeared that day (this was the first conference after Joseph F. Smith's return from his 7.5-year federal-prosecution exile, so several talks reference that directly). Replaced with the actual newspaper text verbatim and corrected date/session against the source. Confirmed neither John Henry Smith nor George Teasdale appear in the conference's opening roll of authorities on the stand or speak anywhere in the proceedings (both are named only in the later formal sustaining-vote list, which covers the whole quorum including absent members) -- their separate files are fabricated and left blocked rather than rewritten. no metadata fix needed; body replaced with the real verbatim text.
This is a living critical edition. If you find a transcription, metadata, or sourcing error in this talk, report it to the editors →Reports are collated against the page scan and land as corrections in the vault.
