Fidelity

○Fragmentary

Deseret News minutes of the October 6-10, 1875 General Conference (Forty-Sixth Semi-Annual Conference). Notably, the New Tabernacle was formally dedicated Saturday, October 9, 1875, during this conference. All 8 discourses with surviving JD full text are filed separately as talks: Joseph F. Smith's 'God Preserves His People...' (Wednesday October 6 AM) and George Q. Cannon's 'The Pleasure of Serving God...' (Wednesday PM); Daniel H. Wells' 'The Blessing of Life for Evermore...' (Thursday October 7 AM); Wilford Woodruff's 'The Resurrection...' (Friday October 8 AM) and George Q. Cannon's 'Self Preservation—United Order...' (Friday PM); Orson Pratt's 'On the Dedication of the New Tabernacle' (Saturday October 9 AM); and Joseph F. Smith's 'What the Lord Requires of His Saints' (Sunday October 10 AM) and John Taylor's 'The Purposes of God...' (Sunday PM) — confirmed against the Weebly page's own bibliography, which lists no other JD citations for this conference (Franklin D. Richards' and Brigham Young's remarks are separately cited only to the Deseret News, not JD). None of these 8 have an available Internet Archive page anchor anywhere in this range of JD Volume 18, so all remain cited to their BYU ContentDM pointer, per indexes/jod-page-index.json. The many other named speakers (Rich, Lyman, Morris, Squires, Burton, John Henry Smith, Hardy, Hughes, Watts, Hyde, Joseph Young, Snow, Richards, and Brigham Young's several appearances) are recorded only as third-person Deseret News summaries, with no full JD text located — consistent with the bibliography, not a vault gap.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the official/CHL/JSP source plus scan/OCR witness; fixed a major stale-claims bug (this file wrongly asserted all discourses were 'NOT yet individually transcribed' when 8 were already filed as separate talks) and rewrote the day-by-day summary accordingly.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: fixed a stale-claims bug — this file asserted that discourses by Young, Rich, Smith, Cannon, Wells, Woodruff, Snow, Richards, and Taylor were 'NOT yet individually transcribed,' when 8 of these speakers' discourses already existed as separately filed talks (reviewed under claude-sonnet-4-6's earlier light pass, each already carrying a precise JD citation). Rewrote the day-by-day summary to name and cross-link all 8 filed discourses by session. Confirmed no Internet Archive page anchor exists anywhere in this range of JD Volume 18 (per indexes/jod-page-index.json), so the BYU ContentDM pointers already in each file remain the correct citations. Confirmed against the Weebly page's own bibliography that Rich, Lyman, Morris, Squires, Burton, John Henry Smith, Hardy, Hughes, Watts, Hyde, Joseph Young, Snow, Richards, and Brigham Young's several appearances have no JD citation — summary-only, not an ingestion gap. Confirmed fidelity: fragmentary remains correct per schema/schema.md for record_type: conference_record.
