Deseret News minutes of the April 6-11, 1875 General Conference (Forty-Fifth Annual Conference). First Presidency: Brigham Young, George A. Smith, Daniel H. Wells; Counselors Lorenzo Snow, George Q. Cannon, Brigham Young Jr., Albert Carrington. All 9 discourses with surviving JD full text are filed separately as talks: Daniel H. Wells' 'The Saints Have the Priesthood...' and Charles C. Rich's 'The Gathering...' (Tuesday April 6 AM); Orson Hyde's 'Education Necessary...' (Tuesday PM); Erastus Snow's 'Self-Reliance...' and Brigham Young's 'Temporal Affairs...' (Wednesday April 7 PM); John Taylor's 'Man, the Offspring of God...' (Thursday April 8 AM, a discourse that crosses a JD volume boundary — the printed text continues from Volume 17 into the opening pages of Volume 18); George Q. Cannon's 'There is Cause for Rejoicing...' (Thursday PM); George Q. Cannon's 'Cooperation a True Principle...' (Saturday April 10 AM); and Orson Pratt's 'Gathering of Israel...' (Sunday April 11 AM) — confirmed against the Weebly page's own bibliography, which lists no other JD citations for this conference. The many other named speakers (Cannon's separate 'Education' remarks, Joseph Young, Woodruff, Lorenzo Snow, Penrose, Brigham Young Jr., Brigham Young's several other appearances) are recorded only as third-person Deseret News summaries, with no full JD text located — consistent with the bibliography, not a vault gap.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the official/CHL/JSP source plus scan/OCR witness; fixed a major stale-claims bug (this file wrongly asserted all discourses were 'NOT yet individually transcribed' when 9 were already filed as separate talks) and rewrote the day-by-day summary accordingly.

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: fixed a stale-claims bug — this file asserted that discourses by Wells, Rich, Hyde, Cannon, Young, Snow, Taylor, and Pratt were 'NOT yet individually transcribed,' when all 9 already existed as separately filed talks (reviewed under claude-sonnet-4-6's earlier light pass, each already carrying a precise JD citation). Rewrote the day-by-day summary to name and cross-link all 9 filed discourses by session. During this same pass, restored a genuine ~3-paragraph gap in the Taylor discourse (the printed text crosses from JD Volume 17 into Volume 18, and the continuation had never been transcribed) — see that file's own heavyweight notes. Confirmed against the Weebly page's own bibliography that Cannon's separate 'Education' remarks, Joseph Young, Woodruff, Lorenzo Snow, Penrose, Brigham Young Jr., and Brigham Young's other appearances have no JD citation — summary-only, not an ingestion gap. Confirmed fidelity: fragmentary remains correct per schema/schema.md for record_type: conference_record.
