Transcribed by LaJean Purcell Carruth 12 July 2019. Carruth footnotes record that the printed text diverges more sharply from the shorthand from JD 15:172 onward, and set out the Journal of Discourses renderings of the Church-and-State passage at 15:172 and of the scientific babies of the world passage at 15:173 for comparison. Recorded as a separate witness per docs/ingestion.md's Carruth policy; the printed Journal of Discourses 15:167 text stays preferred until this transcription is reviewed against it.
