Witnesses

Carruth CR 100 912 inventory item cr-100-912-0662. Scholarly re-transcription of George D. Watt's original Pitman shorthand report, catalogued at the Church History Library. MS 4534 box 3 disk 2 1859b images 17-36. Sermon in Journal of Discourses 7:210; not in CR 100 317. Transcribed by LaJean Purcell Carruth 26 April 2010. Carruth's headnote records that the printed version follows the shorthand closely for a time and then deviates sharply from it, and that the Journal of Discourses accounts of the Mormon Battalion and of the army's coming are editorial additions with no counterpart in the shorthand. Recorded as a separate witness per docs/ingestion.md's Carruth policy; the printed Journal of Discourses 7:210 text stays preferred until this transcription is reviewed against it.
