Carruth CR 100 912 inventory item cr-100-912-0659. Scholarly re-transcription of George D. Watt's original Pitman shorthand report, catalogued at the Church History Library. Papers of George D. Watt MS 4534 box 3 disk 2 1859b images 247-256. Sermon in Journal of Discourses 7:176; not in CR 100 317. Transcribed by LaJean Purcell Carruth 7 April 2010. Carruth notes that while most of the printed version follows the shorthand closely, much of the description of Joseph Smith's activities at JD 7:176 is absent from the shorthand, as is the statement at JD 7:181 that God has borne witness by his own voice, and her transcript uniquely preserves the note that W. W. Phelps offered the opening prayer. Recorded as a separate witness per docs/ingestion.md's Carruth policy; the printed Journal of Discourses 7:176 text stays preferred until this transcription is reviewed against it.
Ingested; not yet independently reviewed.
