John Taylor · · 1857-11-01
Published in Journal of Discourses, Volume 6, pp. 18-27. Reported by G. D. Watt. Collated against the BYU JoD volume 6 page scan (contentdm.lib.byu.edu, JournalOfDiscourses3 id 2742, leaves 25-34). Both research-oracle copies matched each other throughout (shared textual lineage) but both silently Americanize the printed volume's British spelling convention; the print itself reads 'honourably', 'neighbours', 'honourable', 'neighbourhood', 'favour', and 'honour' where the oracles give '-or' forms — restored the printed spelling in each case. One further oracle divergence: both oracles read "rule both temporally and spiritually," but the printed page unambiguously reads "rule both temporarily and spiritually" — kept the print's actual wording rather than the oracle's more expected reading. Header verified against the printed page: title '"The Kingdom of God or Nothing."', 'A Sermon by Elder John Taylor, delivered in the Tabernacle, Great Salt Lake City, November 1, 1857,' reported by G. D. Watt. November 1, 1857 does not fall inside a General Conference window in indexes/conference-calendar.md (1857 GC windows: April 6-9, October 6-7); category set tabernacle_address.
