○Fragmentary

Deseret News minutes (April 11, 1855, p. 36) of the April 6-8, 1855 General Conference, the 25th-anniversary conference. All discourses from this conference that survive in the Journal of Discourses are filed separately as full talks: Brigham Young's 'Faithfulness and Apostasy' and 'Preaching and Testimony' (JD 2:266-271), Orson Pratt's 'Progress of the Work' (JD 2:259-266), Ezra T. Benson's 'The Word of Wisdom' (JD 2:357-359), and George A. Smith's 'Ordaining Young Men to Office' (JD 2:360-368). Corrected during heavyweight review; a prior pass of this note incorrectly claimed all but Faithfulness and Apostasy were not yet transcribed. The many shorter remarks and sustainings across the three-day conference remain open work for a future ingestion pass.

Collation history

Proofread against the source text.

Proofread against the Deseret News/weebly witnesses; fixed stale not-yet-transcribed claims (see heavyweight_review_notes).

Collated word-by-word against the original scan.

Heavyweight pass: this conference-record file claimed Pratt, Benson, Smith, and Young's second discourse were not yet transcribed, when they already existed as separate talk files. Corrected the fidelity_notes and body narrative. Also found and fixed a serious content-integrity bug in the sibling Young 'Preaching and Testimony' file (duplicate text of the 'Faithfulness and Apostasy' discourse; see that file's heavyweight_review_notes). newspapers.lib.utah.edu returns HTTP 418 to automated fetch, a known tooling limitation, so the full Deseret News minutes text was not independently re-verified against the original scan this pass.
