MS 4534 box 2 disk 2 1853 image 183 [description of the day by George Watt], 201-205, 160-173. Sermon in Journal of Discourses 1:131-137 and in CR 100 317 box 1 folder 6. Transcribed by LaJean Purcell Carruth 7 June 2011. The item also carries Young's brief morning remarks opening the conference and a short benediction at the temple ground, neither published in JD nor part of this talk, and Carruth's footnote records that the Joseph Smith statement at JD 1:137 includes material not in the shorthand. Item cr-100-912-0060 is the revised issue of the same transcription, verified by Silvia Ghosh, July 2019. Item cr-100-912-0696 is the fuller day-record of the same notebook (images 160-205). Recorded as a separate witness per docs/ingestion.md's Carruth policy; the printed Journal of Discourses 1:131-137 text stays preferred until this transcription is reviewed against it.
