Watt's shorthand record by LaJean Purcell Carruth 7 February 2013. Carruth notes that one page is missing from the scanned original and was transcribed from photocopies made years earlier, and her record continues past the close of the discourse to report the afternoon meeting of the same Sunday, at which Elder Lyman addressed the congregation on the first principles of the gospel with Orson Pratt, Wilford Woodruff and General Rich on the stand. Recorded as a separate witness per docs/ingestion.md's Carruth policy; the printed Journal of Discourses 1:280 text stays preferred until this transcription is reviewed against it.
