◑Contemporaneous report

Published in Journal of Discourses, Volume 6, pp. 1-11. Reported by W. Richards, W. Woodruff, T. Bullock, and W. Clayton. This is the discourse widely known as the King Follett Discourse (or King Follett Sermon), delivered at the funeral of Elder King Follett during the April 1844 General Conference. Several independent shorthand reports of this sermon exist (including Thomas Bullock's, William Clayton's, Wilford Woodruff's, and Willard Richards's individual minutes, later compared and conflated by later editors) and they differ from one another in wording and completeness; the text here is the printed Journal of Discourses compilation credited to all four reporters jointly, not a claim that it is the single best or most complete witness to what was said.
